A Survey of Nurses¢¥s Attitude on Nursing Records


Abstract
The purposes of this study were to determine the nurses¢¥ attitude on nursing records; to identify the opinions toward the present nursing record form; to determine the necessity of inservice education about nursing records.
Subjects were 301 nurses who work at a national university hospital in Seoul.
Data were collected in August, 1981 using questionnaire.
On the bases of these data the following findings were observed; 1) The mean attitude score on nursing records is 5.35¡¾0.65 of 7.
2) There are not significant differences in nurses¢¥ attitude by age, position, clinical experience and education. (p>0. 05)
3) 70.8% of nurses think the necessity of nursing record is that it is to be the communication tool among medical team.
4) 70. 1% of nurses want to write the present nursing record more in detail.
5) 62.8% of nurses think nursing record must be written frequently whenever necessary. It can be concluded that nurses¢¥ attitude on nursing records is comparatively positive, however stepwise continuing education will be demended for nurses to apply the problem oriented nursing record.
